THE SOUL

*TADABBUR*

๐Ÿ“ *Surah 91. Ash-Shams (The Sun)*

๐Ÿ”ท️ *[Allah swears by His Creation that the Person Who purifies Himself will be Successful]* ๐Ÿ”ท️

✒He is not asked about what He does, while they (His creation) will be asked.' He (`Imran) then said, `May Allah guide you! I only asked you about that in order to inform you that a man from Muzaynah or Juhaynah tribe came to the Allah's Messenger SAW and asked him: "O Messenger of Allah SAW! Do you consider the actions of mankind and their struggles to be preordained for them and written for them from Qadr, or something written for them only after the Message came to them from their Prophet SAW, when there will be an evidence against them'' He (the Prophet SAW) replied:

*ุจَู„ْ ุดَูŠْุกٌ ู‚َุฏْ ู‚ُุถِูŠَ ุนَู„َูŠْู‡ِู…*

๐Ÿ“ƒ(Rather it is something preordained for them.)

✒So the man said, "Then what is the point of our actions'' The Prophet SAW replied,

*ู…َู†ْ ูƒَุงู†َ ุงู„ู„ู‡ُ ุฎَู„َู‚َู‡ُ ู„ุฅِุญْุฏَู‰ ุงู„ْู…َู†ْุฒِู„َุชَูŠْู†ِ ูŠُู‡َูŠِّุฆُู‡ُ ู„َู‡َุง، ูˆَุชَุตْุฏِูŠู‚ُ ุฐَู„ِูƒَ ูِูŠ ูƒِุชَุงุจِ ุงู„ู„ู‡ِ ุชَุนَุงู„َู‰:*

*ูˆَู†َูْุณٍ ูˆَู…َุง ุณَูˆَّุงู‡َุง - ูَุฃَู„ْู‡َู…َู‡َุง ูُุฌُูˆุฑَู‡َุง ูˆَุชَู‚ْูˆَุงู‡َุง*

๐Ÿ“ƒ(Whoever Allah created for one of the two positions (Paradise or Hell), He makes it easy for him (to attain).

๐Ÿ“šThe proof of that is in the Book of Allah (By Nafs, and Ma Sawwaha (Who apportioned it). Then He showed it its Fujur and its Taqwa).)''

๐Ÿ“šAhmad and Muslim both recorded this Hadith. Allah then says,

*ู‚َุฏْ ุฃَูْู„َุญَ ู…َู† ุฒَูƒَّู€ู‡َุง - ูˆَู‚َุฏْ ุฎَุงุจَ ู…َู† ุฏَุณَّู€ู‡َุง*

๐Ÿ“ƒ(Indeed he succeeds who purifies it.  And indeed he fails who Dassaha.)

➡️This could mean that whoever purifies himself by obedience to Allah, then he will be successful.

๐Ÿ“šThis is as Qatadah said, "He cleanses it from the lowly and despicable characteristics.''

๐Ÿ”ท️Similar to this has been reported from Mujahid, `Ikrimah and Sa`id bin Jubayr.

*ูˆَู‚َุฏْ ุฎَุงุจَ ู…َู† ุฏَุณَّู€ู‡َุง*

๐Ÿ“ƒ(And indeed he fails who Dassaha.) meaning, to conceal it.
✒This means that he makes it dull, and he disregards it by neglecting to allow it to receive guidance.

๐Ÿ”ท️He treats it in this manner until he performs acts of disobedience and he abandons obedience of Allah.

๐Ÿ‘‰It also could mean that he is indeed successful whose soul Allah purifies, and he has failed whose soul Allah corrupts.

๐Ÿ“šThis is like what was reported by Al-`Awfi and `Ali bin Abi Talhah from Ibn `Abbas.

๐Ÿ“‘At-Tabarani recorded that Ibn `Abbas said, "The Messenger of Allah SAW used to stop whenever he recited this Ayah,

*ูˆَู†َูْุณٍ ูˆَู…َุง ุณَูˆَّุงู‡َุง - ูَุฃَู„ْู‡َู…َู‡َุง ูُุฌُูˆุฑَู‡َุง ูˆَุชَู‚ْูˆَุงู‡َุง*

๐Ÿ“ƒ(By Nafs, and Ma Sawwaha (Who apportioned it).  Then He showed it its Fujur and its Taqwa.)

๐ŸŽ™Then he would say,

*ุงู„ู„ْู‡ُู…َّ ุขุชِ ู†َูْุณِูŠ ุชَู‚ْูˆَุงู‡َุง، ุฃَู†ْุชَ ูˆَู„ِูŠُّู‡َุง ูˆَู…َูˆْู„َุงู‡َุง، ูˆَุฎَูŠْุฑُ ู…َู†ْ ุฒَูƒَّุงู‡َุง*

๐Ÿ“ƒ(O Allah! Give my soul its good. You are its Guardian and Master, and the best to purify it.)'' 

๐Ÿ“šAnother Hadith Imam Ahmad recorded that Zayd bin Arqam said that the Messenger of Allah SAW said,

*ุงู„ู„ْู‡ُู…َّ ุฅِู†ِّูŠ ุฃَุนُูˆุฐُ ุจِูƒَ ู…ِู†َ ุงู„ْุนَุฌْุฒ ูˆَุงู„ْูƒَุณَู„ِ، ูˆَุงู„ْู‡َุฑَู…ِ ูˆَุงู„ْุฌُุจْู†ِ ูˆَุงู„ْุจُุฎْู„ِ ูˆَุนَุฐَุงุจِ ุงู„ْู‚َุจْุฑِ. ุงู„ู„ْู‡ُู…َّ ุขุชِ ู†َูْุณِูŠ ุชَู‚ْูˆَุงู‡َุง، ูˆَุฒَูƒِّู‡َุง ุฃَู†ْุชَ ุฎَูŠْุฑُ ู…َู†ْ ุฒَูƒَّุงู‡َุง، ุฃَู†ْุชَ ูˆَู„ِูŠُّู‡َุง ูˆَู…َูˆْู„َุงู‡َุง. ุงู„ู„ْู‡ُู…َّ ุฅِู†ِّูŠ ุฃَุนُูˆุฐُ ุจِูƒَ ู…ِู†ْ ู‚َู„ْุจٍ ู„َุง ูŠَุฎْุดَุนُ، ูˆَู…ِู†ْ ู†َูْุณٍ ู„َุง ุชَุดْุจَุนُ، ูˆَุนِู„ْู…ٍ ู„َุง ูŠَู†ْูَุนُ، ูˆَุฏَุนْูˆَุฉٍ ู„َุง ูŠُุณْุชَุฌَุงุจُ ู„َู‡َุง*

๐Ÿ“ƒ(O Allah! Verily, I seek refuge with You from weakness, laziness, senility (of old age), cowardliness, stinginess and the torment of the grave.  O Allah! Give my soul its good and purify it, for You are the best to purify it. You are its Guardian and Master. O Allah! Verily, I seek refuge with You from a heart that is not humble, a soul that is not satisfied, knowledge that does not benefit and a supplication that is not answered.)
